Creating realistic cat figurine based on my cats motivated me to start this journey. I wanted to have a keepsake of them and I want to interact with it on a regular basis, not a figurine on the table that I look at when I pass by or remembers. I have a felt cat that is a replica of my cat Robo, it really feels like he is sleeping over there on the cabinet, but overtime, I forget to look over and it can go for weeks before it catches my eyes again.

I want it to be a form of living spirit that I get to interact with daily. What’s better than a coffee mug. The challenge is to incorporate in a way that is spacious enough to hold a lifelike detailed figurine while also function enough to hold hot tea or coffee. This is my second attempt to create a mug with cat nested in it, and this time, it really captured the feeling of my kitty Finn.
